FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about downloading Instagram videos.

How do I download an Instagram Reel?

Copy the Instagram Reel URL from the browser or the Instagram app (tap the three dots → Copy link), paste it in the box above, and tap "Get download link." You will get a direct URL you can open or save to your device.

Is this free?

Yes. The tool is completely free to try — no account, no credit card. You get one demo download per browser session. For unlimited downloads via API, create a free GetTranscribe account and grab your API key.

Does it work on Reels, posts and IGTV?

Yes. Paste the URL of any public Instagram Reel (/reel/…), regular video post (/p/…), or IGTV video (/tv/…) and the tool will resolve a direct download link.

Does it work on private accounts or private posts?

No. We can only resolve download links for publicly visible content. Posts from private accounts or content that requires login cannot be accessed.

Will the downloaded video have a watermark?

No. The download link points directly to Instagram's CDN — the file is the original video without any overlay or watermark from our service.

How long is the download link valid?

Instagram CDN links are time-limited, typically valid for a few hours. Download your video promptly after getting the link. If it expires, paste the URL again to get a fresh one.

Can I use this for bulk downloads or automation?

For bulk or automated downloads you need the GetTranscribe API. The POST /download-video endpoint accepts any Instagram URL and returns a direct download link. Check the API docs for details.

Is downloading Instagram videos legal?

Downloading publicly available content for personal use is common, but distributing or re-publishing someone else's content without permission may violate Instagram's Terms of Service and copyright law. Always respect creators' rights.
